Despite a disappointment, a good price for Willy Kessels
When the work Sans Titre by Willy Kessels was auctioned at Sothebys in Paris in May 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 4,750.00. Despite this disappointing result, Sans Titre is the most expensive artwork by Willy Kessels that we have observed at auction so far.
Trotz Enttäuschung ein guter Preis für Willy Kessels
Als die Arbeit Sans Titre von Willy Kessels im Mai 2012 bei Sothebys in Paris versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 4.750,00 den Besitzer. Trotz dieses enttäuschenden Ergebnisses ist Sans Titre das teuerste Kunstwerk von Willy Kessels, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
