Auction result misses estimated price range
In April 2006 a collector was able to acquire the work Contemplating The Consequences of Political Failure (The Unidentified Man Scene), 1998 by Willie Doherty for USD 4,200.00 (€ 3,327.00). This price was achieved in the auction Photographs at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 7,000.00 – 9,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Willie Doherty have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in November 2013 by the work The Bridge, 1992 at EUR 3,750.00.
