Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Breaking The Ice by William Webb was auctioned at Sothebys in Olympia in July 2007. The price achieved of GBP 1,860.00 (€ 2,762.53) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Webb achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Favorite Hunters of Richard William Penn, 1st Earl Howe (1796-1870), with Gopsall Hall, Leicestershire in the background in October 2011 with an auction result of USD 98,500.00 (€ 70,624.51).

Die Arbeit Breaking The Ice von William Webb kam im Juli 2007 bei Sothebys in Olympia zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.860,00 (€ 2.762,53) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Webb erzielen.
