This artwork by William Webb achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in November 2007. In the Maritime auction, the work A British merchantman under full canvas in a stiff breeze sold for GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,900.91) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Webb achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Favorite Hunters of Richard William Penn, 1st Earl Howe (1796-1870), with Gopsall Hall, Leicestershire in the background in October 2011 with an auction result of USD 98,500.00 (€ 70,624.51).

Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Favorite Hunters of Richard William Penn, 1st Earl Howe (1796-1870), with Gopsall Hall, Leicestershire in the background im Oktober 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 98.500,00 (€ 70.624,51).
