A top price for William Temple Muir - as previously expected
In March 2005 Christies in London held the auction The Scottish Sale, which included the work The Mussel Gatherers by William Temple Muir. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,320.00 (€ 1,922.44) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, The Mussel Gatherers is the most expensive artwork by William Temple Muir that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im März 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Scottish Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Mussel Gatherers von William Temple Muir zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.320,00 (€ 1.922,44) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist The Mussel Gatherers das teuerste Kunstwerk von William Temple Muir, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
