The work Tiddley Winks by William Somerville Shanks was sold in the A GREAT BRITISH COLLECTION: The pictures collected by Sir David and Lady Scott, sold to benefit the Finnis Scott Foundation auction at Sothebys in London in November 2008. The price achieved of GBP 181,250.00 (€ 219,144.87) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 150,000.00 – 200,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Tiddley Winks is the most expensive artwork by William Somerville Shanks that we have observed at auctions so far.
