Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2010 Christies in London held the auction Victorian and British Impressionist Pictures, which included the work Carousing outside the Royal Oak Inn by William Shayer Snr.. The price achieved of GBP 17,500.00 (€ 20,912.47) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Shayer Snr. - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The itinerant rabbit seller, which sold at auction in November 2001 for GBP 36,425.00 (€ 57,963.65).

Im November 2010 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian and British Impressionist Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Carousing outside the Royal Oak Inn von William Shayer Snr. zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 17.500,00 (€ 20.912,47) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben worden.
