In June this year Bonhams held the auction Prints and Multiples, which included the work Lemon Pears by William Scott. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,584.00 (€ 4,171.16), 63% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Scott achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bowl, Eggs and Lemons in June 2008 with an auction result of GBP 1,071,650.00 (€ 1,354,601.53).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 63 % übertroffen
Im Juni diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Prints and Multiples durch, in der auch die Arbeit Lemon Pears von William Scott zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 3.584,00 (€ 4.171,16) und damit 63% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Scott erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Bowl, Eggs and Lemons im Juni 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.071.650,00 (€ 1.354.601,53).
