Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2006 Christies in New York held the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work Trevi Fountain by William Samuel Horton. It changed hands for a price of USD 4,800.00 (€ 3,783.40) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Samuel Horton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Punch and Judy on the Beach in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 43,750.00 (€ 38,638.17).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2006 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Trevi Fountain von William Samuel Horton zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 4.800,00 (€ 3.783,40) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Samuel Horton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Punch and Judy on the Beach im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 43.750,00 (€ 38.638,17).
