Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by William Rose was sold in the AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS auction at Christies in Melbourne in November 2003. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 1,000.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 1,175.00 (€ 708.82) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Rose - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in March 2006 for AUD 3,465.50 (€ 2,045.50).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von William Rose wurde im November 2003 in der Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS bei Christies in Melbourne versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 1.000,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von AUD 1.175,00 (€ 708,82) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von William Rose mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im März 2006 für AUD 3.465,50 (€ 2.045,50) versteigert wurde.
