This artwork by William Rose achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Melbourne in May 2005. In the PAINTINGS FROM THE JOSEPH BROWN COLLECTION auction, the work Abstract sold for AUD 1,553.50 (€ 954.95) - well above the upper estimate of AUD 800.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Rose - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in March 2006 for AUD 3,465.50 (€ 2,045.50).

Dieses Kunstwerk von William Rose erzielte im Mai 2005 bei Christies in Melbourne einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion PAINTINGS FROM THE JOSEPH BROWN COLLECTION wurde die Arbeit Abstract für AUD 1.553,50 (€ 954,95) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von AUD 800,00. Für andere Arbeiten von William Rose mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im März 2006 für AUD 3.465,50 (€ 2.045,50) versteigert wurde.
