Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of GBP 940.00 (€ 1,508.35) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Admittedly, works by William Pitt have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Near Stoke Gabriel on the Dart, Devon; and Cottage at Hooe, near Plymouth in September 2000 with an auction result of GBP 8,225.00 (€ 13,762.94).
