It achieved a price of GBP 840.00 (€ 1,234.07), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 20%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Pitt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Near Stoke Gabriel on the Dart, Devon; and Cottage at Hooe, near Plymouth in September 2000 with an auction result of GBP 8,225.00 (€ 13,762.94).
