Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by William Pitt could be acquired at Christies in London in October 2012 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work A Devonshire Inlet changed hands for GBP 875.00 (€ 1,087.91) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Pitt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Near Stoke Gabriel on the Dart, Devon; and Cottage at Hooe, near Plymouth in September 2000 with an auction result of GBP 8,225.00 (€ 13,762.94).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von William Pitt konnte im Oktober 2012 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Christie's Interiors wechselte die Arbeit A Devonshire Inlet für GBP 875,00 (€ 1.087,91) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Pitt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Near Stoke Gabriel on the Dart, Devon; and Cottage at Hooe, near Plymouth im September 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 8.225,00 (€ 13.762,94).
