Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait Of Louisa, Lady Bagot by William Owen for USD 5,313.00 (€ 3,579.95). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master and 19th Century European Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Owen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Ernest Augustus I (1771-1851), Duke of Cumberland and later King of Hanover (1837-1851), full-length, in the uniform of a British General Officer of Hussars, with the blue sash and breast star of the Order of the Garter in October 2015 with an auction result of GBP 62,500.00 (€ 87,421.89).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Januar 2008 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Portrait Of Louisa, Lady Bagot von William Owen für USD 5.313,00 (€ 3.579,95) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Old Master and 19th Century European Art bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Owen erzielen.
