Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Golden Horseshoe by William Michael Harnett was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 300,000.00 – 500,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 325,000.00 (€ 278,491.86) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by William Michael Harnett have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in November 2019 the work Still Life With Violin was auctioned for USD 500,000.00 (€ 453,761.68).
