Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2015 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work Still Life With Fruit And Vase by William Michael Harnett. The price achieved of USD 20,000.00 (€ 18,112.66) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Michael Harnett achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Still Life With Violin in November 2019 with an auction result of USD 500,000.00 (€ 453,761.68).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2015 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Still Life With Fruit And Vase von William Michael Harnett zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 20.000,00 (€ 18.112,66) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Michael Harnett erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Still Life With Violin im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 500.000,00 (€ 453.761,68).
