Auction result misses estimated price range
In May last year a collector was able to acquire the work The Living Room by William McGregor Paxton for USD 38,000.00 (€ 35,411.42). This price was achieved in the auction American Art at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William McGregor Paxton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Letter in April 2002 with an auction result of USD 834,500.00 (€ 927,016.22).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The Living Room von William McGregor Paxton für USD 38.000,00 (€ 35.411,42) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion American Art bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William McGregor Paxton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Letter im April 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 834.500,00 (€ 927.016,22).
