Auction result well in line with expectations
In November this year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction American Art, which included the work Phryne by William McGregor Paxton. The price achieved of USD 28,160.00 (€ 25,815.91) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William McGregor Paxton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Letter in April 2002 with an auction result of USD 834,500.00 (€ 927,016.22).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Phryne von William McGregor Paxton zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 28.160,00 (€ 25.815,91) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William McGregor Paxton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Letter im April 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 834.500,00 (€ 927.016,22).
