Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2004 Christies in London held the auction British Pictures 1500-1850, which included the work View Of The Chateau Of Pierre Encise, Lyon by William Marlow. The price achieved of GBP 11,950.00 (€ 17,190.01) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Marlow achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A View From Richmond, Looking Towards Twickenham in January 2007 with an auction result of USD 384,000.00 (€ 295,430.07).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 11.950,00 (€ 17.190,01) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden.
