Auction result well in line with expectations
The work View Of Matlock, Derbyshire by William Marlow was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2010. The price achieved of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 28,999.92) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Marlow achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A View From Richmond, Looking Towards Twickenham in January 2007 with an auction result of USD 384,000.00 (€ 295,430.07).
