Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Fishing in the Adirondacks by William Louis Sonntag was auctioned at Christies in New York in March 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 34,600.00 (€ 21,891.81) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by William Louis Sonntag have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Morning In The Alleghenies in November 2012 with an auction result of USD 230,500.00 (€ 177,171.41).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Fishing in the Adirondacks von William Louis Sonntag kam im März 2008 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 34.600,00 (€ 21.891,81) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Louis Sonntag auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Morning In The Alleghenies im November 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 230.500,00 (€ 177.171,41).
