This artwork by William Lister-Lister achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in October 2011. In the Modern and Contemporary Australian Art with Works by 20th Century African Artists auction, the work Balmoral Beach sold for GBP 1,750.00 (€ 2,025.29) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Lister-Lister achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Beach Scene, c.1892 in April 2021 with an auction result of AUD 46,740.00 (€ 38,852.87).

Dieses Kunstwerk von William Lister-Lister erzielte im Oktober 2011 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Australian Art with Works by 20th Century African Artists wurde die Arbeit Balmoral Beach für GBP 1.750,00 (€ 2.025,29) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Lister-Lister erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Beach Scene, c.1892 im April 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 46.740,00 (€ 38.852,87).
