Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2006 Christies in Melbourne held the auction Australian, International & Contemporary Paintings Part II, which included the work Seascape by William Lister-Lister. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 836.50 (€ 503.13) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Lister-Lister achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Beach Scene, c.1892 in April 2021 with an auction result of AUD 46,740.00 (€ 38,852.87).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2006 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion Australian, International & Contemporary Paintings Part II durch, in der auch die Arbeit Seascape von William Lister-Lister zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von AUD 836,50 (€ 503,13) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Lister-Lister erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Beach Scene, c.1892 im April 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 46.740,00 (€ 38.852,87).
