Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2015 Sothebys in London held the auction Irish Art, which included the work In The Sunshine (Self-Portrait) by William Leech. The price achieved of GBP 9,375.00 (€ 13,113.28) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Leech achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Shining Palace in May 2000 with an auction result of GBP 102,750.00 (€ 164,875.86).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2015 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit In The Sunshine (Self-Portrait) von William Leech zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 9.375,00 (€ 13.113,28) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Leech erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Shining Palace im Mai 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 102.750,00 (€ 164.875,86).
