Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Children On The Beach With Breakers by William Leech was sold in the The Irish Sale auction at Sothebys in London in May 2007. The price achieved of GBP 36,000.00 (€ 52,976.44) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Leech - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Shining Palace, which sold at auction in May 2000 for GBP 102,750.00 (€ 164,875.86).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Children On The Beach With Breakers von William Leech wurde im Mai 2007 in der Auktion The Irish Sale bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 36.000,00 (€ 52.976,44) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von William Leech mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Shining Palace beobachtet, die im Mai 2000 für GBP 102.750,00 (€ 164.875,86) versteigert wurde.
