Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Unloading The Catch by William Lee-Hankey was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,472.15) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Lee-Hankey achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Goose Girl in November 2002 with an auction result of GBP 53,775.00 (€ 84,208.88).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Unloading The Catch von William Lee-Hankey kam im März 2016 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.750,00 (€ 3.472,15) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Lee-Hankey erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Goose Girl im November 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 53.775,00 (€ 84.208,88).
