Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2013 Christies in London held the auction Victorian, British and Impressionist Art, which included the work The Clock Tower, La Rochelle by William Lee-Hankey. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,250.00 (€ 2,707.57) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Lee-Hankey achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Goose Girl in November 2002 with an auction result of GBP 53,775.00 (€ 84,208.88).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2013 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian, British and Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Clock Tower, La Rochelle von William Lee-Hankey zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.250,00 (€ 2.707,57) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Lee-Hankey erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Goose Girl im November 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 53.775,00 (€ 84.208,88).
