Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2004 a collector was able to acquire the work Port Jefferson Sand Quarry by William Langson Lathrop for USD 7,767.50 (€ 6,255.54). This price was achieved in the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by William Langson Lathrop have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Cattle Grazing in March 2007 with an auction result of USD 38,400.00 (€ 28,712.43).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im September 2004 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Port Jefferson Sand Quarry von William Langson Lathrop für USD 7.767,50 (€ 6.255,54) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Langson Lathrop auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Cattle Grazing im März 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 38.400,00 (€ 28.712,43).
