Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2012 Christies in New York held the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture Including the Collection of Dr. Mark and Irene Kauffman, which included the work Sand Harbor by William Langson Lathrop. The price achieved of USD 8,750.00 (€ 6,562.17) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Admittedly, works by William Langson Lathrop have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Cattle Grazing in March 2007 with an auction result of USD 38,400.00 (€ 28,712.43).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2012 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture Including the Collection of Dr. Mark and Irene Kauffman durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sand Harbor von William Langson Lathrop zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 8.750,00 (€ 6.562,17) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Langson Lathrop auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Cattle Grazing im März 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 38.400,00 (€ 28.712,43).
