In March 2012 Christies in New York held the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture Including the Collection of Dr. Mark and Irene Kauffman, which included the work Edge of the Woods by William Langson Lathrop. The »bidding war« ended at USD 30,000.00 (€ 22,498.88), 67% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by William Langson Lathrop; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Cattle Grazing sold at auction in March 2007 with the realized price of USD 38,400.00 (€ 28,712.43).

Im März 2012 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture Including the Collection of Dr. Mark and Irene Kauffman durch, in der auch die Arbeit Edge of the Woods von William Langson Lathrop zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 30.000,00 (€ 22.498,88) und damit 67% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von William Langson Lathrop; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Cattle Grazing im März 2007 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 38.400,00 (€ 28.712,43).
