The work Horse: Patriarchatus Alexandrini by William Kentridge was auctioned at Christies in London in October this year. It achieved a price of GBP 207,900.00 (€ 238,726.96), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 73%. Admittedly, works by William Kentridge have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Procession in March 2013 with an auction result of USD 1,538,500.00 (€ 1,200,452.56).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 73 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Horse: Patriarchatus Alexandrini von William Kentridge kam im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 207.900,00 (€ 238.726,96) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 73%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Kentridge auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Procession im März 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.538.500,00 (€ 1.200.452,56).
