Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work A frigate moored alongside a hulk with a small ferry passing by by William Joy was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2010. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 900.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 1,000.00 (€ 1,195.00). Admittedly, works by William Joy have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Dutch galliot and other vessels in calm conditions on a British shoreline in October 2021 with an auction result of GBP 8,925.00 (€ 10,573.71).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit A frigate moored alongside a hulk with a small ferry passing by von William Joy kam im November 2010 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 900,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 1.000,00 (€ 1.195,00) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Joy auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Dutch galliot and other vessels in calm conditions on a British shoreline im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 8.925,00 (€ 10.573,71).
