Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by William Joy could be acquired at Bonhams in London in October 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Marine Sale auction, the work A fine merchantman preparing to sail from her offshore anchorage, some crew or passengers approaching in two ketches, and with two naval frigates drying their sails at anchor further out changed hands for GBP 1,785.00 (€ 2,114.74) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by William Joy have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Dutch galliot and other vessels in calm conditions on a British shoreline in October 2021 with an auction result of GBP 8,925.00 (€ 10,573.71).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von William Joy konnte im Oktober 2021 bei Bonhams in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion The Marine Sale wechselte die Arbeit A fine merchantman preparing to sail from her offshore anchorage, some crew or passengers approaching in two ketches, and with two naval frigates drying their sails at anchor further out für GBP 1.785,00 (€ 2.114,74) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00.
