Auction result well in line with expectations
In April this year Bonhams held the auction The Marine Sale, which included the work Men o' war at Portsmouth by William Joy. The price achieved of GBP 1,530.00 (€ 1,743.70) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. Admittedly, works by William Joy have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Dutch galliot and other vessels in calm conditions on a British shoreline in October 2021 with an auction result of GBP 8,925.00 (€ 10,573.71).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion The Marine Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Men o' war at Portsmouth von William Joy zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.530,00 (€ 1.743,70) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Joy auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Dutch galliot and other vessels in calm conditions on a British shoreline im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 8.925,00 (€ 10.573,71).
