Auction result well in line with expectations
The work On the hill of Howth by William Leech was sold in the The Irish Sale auction at Christies in London in May 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 7,200.00 (€ 10,595.29) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Leech achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Shining Palace in May 2000 with an auction result of GBP 102,750.00 (€ 164,875.86).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit On the hill of Howth von William Leech wurde im Mai 2007 in der Auktion The Irish Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 7.200,00 (€ 10.595,29) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Leech erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Shining Palace im Mai 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 102.750,00 (€ 164.875,86).
