In the American Art auction, the work Lady Apples In Overturned Basket changed hands for USD 875.00 (€ 772.15) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William J. McCloskey achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Wrapped Oranges On A Tabletop in May 2011 with an auction result of USD 782,500.00 (€ 544,309.96).
