Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Grapes, strawberries, whitecurrants, peaches, and a red admiral butterfly, on a wooden ledge by William Hughes was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2003. The price achieved of GBP 2,350.00 (€ 3,274.14) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by William Hughes have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Flowers, Fruit, A Bullfinch And Its Nest in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 20,400.00 (€ 30,294.64).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Grapes, strawberries, whitecurrants, peaches, and a red admiral butterfly, on a wooden ledge von William Hughes kam im Mai 2003 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.350,00 (€ 3.274,14) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Hughes auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Flowers, Fruit, A Bullfinch And Its Nest im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 20.400,00 (€ 30.294,64).
