Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October 2006 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Watercolours, which included the work Still life of grapes and an apple on a mossy bank by William Hughes. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 600.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 660.00 (€ 986.10). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Hughes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Flowers, Fruit, A Bullfinch And Its Nest in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 20,400.00 (€ 30,294.64).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit Still life of grapes and an apple on a mossy bank von William Hughes zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 600,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 660,00 (€ 986,10) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Hughes erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Flowers, Fruit, A Bullfinch And Its Nest im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 20.400,00 (€ 30.294,64).
