Sold at the upper estimate price
The work Apples and a pear on a mossy bank; and Apples and grapes on a mossy bank by William Hughes was sold in the Victorian & Traditionalist Pictures auction at Christies in London in March 2008. The auction ended at the price of GBP 1,500.00 (€ 1,884.37), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Hughes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Flowers, Fruit, A Bullfinch And Its Nest in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 20,400.00 (€ 30,294.64).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Apples and a pear on a mossy bank; and Apples and grapes on a mossy bank von William Hughes wurde im März 2008 in der Auktion Victorian & Traditionalist Pictures bei Christies in London versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 1.500,00 (€ 1.884,37) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Hughes erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Flowers, Fruit, A Bullfinch And Its Nest im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 20.400,00 (€ 30.294,64).
