Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Study of an elegant lady, half-length, reading a book; and Study of a lady, half-length, in a coat and hat, reading a book (both illustrated) by William Hoare of Bath was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2010. The price achieved of GBP 937.50 (€ 1,120.31) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Hoare of Bath achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Ayuba Suleiman Diallo, called Job ben Solomon (1701-1773), half-length, in African dress, with the Qu'ran around his neck, in a feigned oval in December 2009 with an auction result of GBP 541,250.00 (€ 610,549.03).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Study of an elegant lady, half-length, reading a book; and Study of a lady, half-length, in a coat and hat, reading a book (both illustrated) von William Hoare of Bath kam im November 2010 bei Christies in London zur Auktion.
