This work of art by William Henry Davis could be acquired at Christies in London in March 2004 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British and Victorian including Scottish Paintings auction, the work A prize heffer and a prize cow changed hands for GBP 4,063.00 (€ 6,081.94) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Henry Davis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Colonel Newport Charlett's Favourite Greyhounds, at Hanley Court, Worcestershire in December 2020 with an auction result of GBP 56,250.00 (€ 62,836.26).
