Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by William Havell could be acquired at Sothebys in London in December 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Early British Drawings, Watercolours and Portrait Miniatures auction, the work A Fisherman And Two Ladies In A Mountainous Landscape changed hands for GBP 2,750.00 (€ 2,888.30) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 4,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Havell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Woodcutters at Park Place, Henley, the River Thames beyond in July 2011 with an auction result of GBP 30,000.00 (€ 34,429.49).
