The work A Shepherd With His Flock In A Wooded River Landscape by William Havell was sold in the Two Great Scottish Collections: Property from the Forbeses of Pitsligo and the Marquesses of Lothian auction at Sothebys in London in March 2017. The price achieved of GBP 3,125.00 (€ 3,662.19) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. Admittedly, works by William Havell have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Woodcutters at Park Place, Henley, the River Thames beyond in July 2011 with an auction result of GBP 30,000.00 (€ 34,429.49).
