Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2012 Sothebys in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work 'Temblor Mts. Calif.' (Near Maricopa) by William Garnett. The price achieved of USD 8,125.00 (€ 6,270.26) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Admittedly, works by William Garnett have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Plowed Field, Arvin, Calif. (Vertical Aerial 500 Ft.) in June 2010 with an auction result of USD 50,000.00 (€ 40,680.17).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2012 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit 'Temblor Mts. Calif.' (Near Maricopa) von William Garnett zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 8.125,00 (€ 6.270,26) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Garnett auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Plowed Field, Arvin, Calif. (Vertical Aerial 500 Ft.) im Juni 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 40.680,17).
