Auction result misses estimated price range
In October this year a collector was able to acquire the work 'Mt. Katmai, Alaska' (Katmai National Park and Preserve) by William Garnett for USD 1,792.00 (€ 1,695.69). This price was achieved in the auction Photographs at Bonhams in London and was even below the estimate range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Garnett achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Plowed Field, Arvin, Calif. (Vertical Aerial 500 Ft.) in June 2010 with an auction result of USD 50,000.00 (€ 40,680.17).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit 'Mt. Katmai, Alaska' (Katmai National Park and Preserve) von William Garnett für USD 1.792,00 (€ 1.695,69) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Photographs bei Bonhams in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Garnett erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Plowed Field, Arvin, Calif. (Vertical Aerial 500 Ft.) im Juni 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 40.680,17).
