The work A Scottish Croft In An Extensive Landscape by William Evans of Eton was sold in the Old Master & British Drawings & Watercolours auction at Christies in London in December 2013. The price achieved of GBP 1,062.50 (€ 1,278.02) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Evans of Eton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A shooting party outside Haddon Hall, Derbyshire in June 2003 with an auction result of GBP 9,560.00 (€ 13,738.24).
