Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (En Route to New Orleans) by William Eggleston was auctioned at Bonhams in London in October this year. The price achieved of USD 33,280.00 (€ 31,491.29) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Eggleston achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled, 1970 in May this year with an auction result of USD 1,008,000.00 (€ 946,123.52).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (En Route to New Orleans) von William Eggleston kam im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 33.280,00 (€ 31.491,29) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Eggleston erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled, 1970 im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.008.000,00 (€ 946.123,52).
