In the British Art on Paper including the Collection and Studio of auction, the work South Walsham Dyke, River Bure, Norfolk changed hands for GBP 176.25 (€ 255.32) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 200.00 – 300.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Edward Mayes - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Hensted Mill, Norfolk, which sold at auction in March 2003 for GBP 587.50 (€ 851.07).
