Auction result misses estimated price range
In June 2000 a collector was able to acquire the work Inter-Alia by William Dole for USD 2,350.00 (€ 2,462.02). This price was achieved in the auction 20th Century Art, including the Billy Wilder Collection at Christies in Los Angeles and was even below the estimate range of USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00 set by the auction house. Other works by William Dole have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in September last year by the work History of the King, 1963 at USD 4,080.00 (€ 4,170.50).
